NBA/ Players Meeting

Can't we all just get along?

For the first time since August 1st, (I know amazing right) representatives from the NBA and the players asssociation will meet to discuss whatever amounts of money are keeping fans from enjoying basketball games. Hopefully there is some headway made, although I strongly doubt it.  If this lockout happens I will be very upset; very, very upset.

Two words fellas: Savings Account

Delonte West recently tweeted that he is broke and has applied at Home Depot (where if this is true he will undoubtedly get a job as token blackey.) Anyone within earshot of the NBA knows of Delonte's legal woes, illicit affairs, and well chronicled bi-polar disorder. I hope to say that this tweet is the child of one of those things are even better a joke, but if there is one thing that we've seen 1000 times, making money and keeping money are two different ball games. Regardless of if Delonte is truthful or not (and he has maintained his application to be fact) the moral of the story is save away for a rainy day or a lockout, because you never know when one might stop by.http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/story/_/id/6871375/boston-celtics-delonte-west-says-applied-home-depot

Lockout???

So the way things look there may not be a season coming.  Some people believe its a ploy for more fan attention, some folks think that its just a bunch of rich people being greedy.  Whatever it is, its obvious that the NBA has forgotten about what is most important, the fans.  No matter how this pans out it is certain that the fans are going to suffer the most, and that is what is most shameful.  Fans are already overcharged for camps, apparel, memorabilia, tickets, and the chance to see (some) players so jaded with fame that they can't even take a picture with them.Now there is a threat of another lock out and amid all the bickering, players going overseas, and David Stern sitting back like a fat cat, fans just want to see great players shoot the rock.
